Money Hungry (Top 3)
1st Pick: LaDainian Tomlinson
Best Pick: Tom Brady
Worst Pick: Jamal Lewis
MH may have been the number one team in the league until he traded Cedric Benson (who, outside of the obvious LDT and Brady pick, could have arguable been his best pick) for a solid receiver. The trouble is, with Houshmandzadeh, Williams, Boldin, Glenn, Henderson and Jurevicius now on his roster, he now lacks depth at running back and is spreading his roster thin. With that said, with LDT on ones team, one is guaranteed a top 3 finish.
Springfield JQs (Bottom 3)
1st Pick: Shaun Alexander
Best Pick: Reggie Wayne
Worst Pick: RB’s (Alexander, Laurence Maroney, Fred Taylor, Warrick Dunn)
I do not like JQs’ running backs. Alexander is old and on the downside of his career. Maroney will have a down second season due to wear and tear from last year and the new Patriot passing game. Fred Taylor and Warrick Dunn each have injury issues and make-up the JQ bench. In other words, the life blood of a fantasy team is JQs’ weak spot. Not good.
Krunk Smurfs (Bottom 3)
1st Pick: Willie Parker
Best Pick: Brian Westbrook
Worst Pick: Clinton Portis
I like this team… to not make the playoffs. The Smurfs lack the “go to” guy. Young needs another year of development. Parker and Westbrook are good backs, but not GREAT backs. Gates is a tight end on the same team as LDT. And the Smurf receiving core is rather weak. Its going to be a long season for the Smurfs.
The Zou (Middle 4)
1st Pick: Larry Johnson
Best Pick: Larry Fitzgerald
Worst Pick: Larry Johnson
The Larry Johnson pick is bad for two reasons. First, Johnson is on pace to die this season. If Johnson manages to make it through the season totally healthy AND run for 1750 then we can officially name him Jesus. Second, Addai was on the board when The Zou took Johnson. If not this year, then somewhere down the road, Zou will regret this.
Still, the Zou still has a solid roster and some excellent young talent including Matt Leinart, Lee Evans, Kelllen Winslow, Calvin Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald. The Zou will be in the playoff hunt.
Weseloh Wannabees (Middle 4)
1st Pick: Steven Jackson
Best Pick: Adrian Peterson
Worst Pick: Ahman Green
The combination of Adrian Peterson and Steven Jackson is going to be a tough one to beat. Steady QB play from McNabb, a great receiver threat in Harrison and two stellar defenses in Chicago and Pittsburgh, make the Wannabees a solid playoff contender.
Pollard’s Bonecrushers (Middle 4)
1st Pick: Frank Gore
Best Pick: Drew Brees
Worst Pick: Willis McGahee
The Bonecrushers have a lot of players with the tag of “They’ll be great if”. For instance, Frank Gore will be great if he continues to progress like he did last year. Willis McGahee will be great if he can stay healthy (given my label has him being the Worst Pick, I obviously don’t think he’ll stay healthy). Drew Brees will be great if his team has a 2006 hangover. Chad Johnson will be great if he plays the way he did in 2005.
The Bonecrushers have talent, but I do not see them as being a playoff contender.
Kansas City Inoculators (Top 3)
1st Pick: Joseph Addai
Best Pick: Vikings DEF/ST
Worst Pick: Muhsin Muhammad
Yep.
Winckler (Top 3)
1st Pick: Peyton Manning
Best Pick: Marshawn Lynch
Worst Pick: Ronnie Brown
The Peyton Manning pick could end up being huge for “Team Winckler.” Winckler also has great keeper prospects in Marshawn Lynch. Winckler, for not being at the draft, could have the team to beat.
Columbia Outlaws (Middle 4)
First Pick: Reggie Bush (traded to Inoc.)
Best Pick: Ben Roethlisberger
Worst Pick: Edgerrin James
Somehow, the Outlaws traded Brees and Bush and are still in a good position to be in the top three. How? I don’t know. It actually makes me kind of mad.
Better… (Middle 4)
1st Pick: Carson Palmer
Best Pick: Randy Moss
Worst Pick: Carnell Williams
This is a tricky team. There is great depth at wide receiver and Palmer is a great quarterback. Rudi Johnson, Carnell Williams and Julius Jones is a questionable running back tandem. It’s a weird team.
