TEN/SD Halftime

15:00

Shit, it’s raining. Not a good sign for my Philip Rivers hopes. (Not that they were very good in the first place.)

12:46

Vince Young is looking a lot like he did against the Chiefs. That is not a complement to San Deigo.

11:36

Justin Gage is a guy a would like he gone to a school other than Missouri (or Iowa). There is nothing flashy about him, he just catches the ball.

9:37

A good drive by Young leads to a field goal. 3-0 Tennessee. If I am San Diego, I am really nervous about this development. Young looks like he is on the verge of going into Rose Bowl mode.

Here comes RIVERS!

8:17

An AWESOME three and out for SD that featured a Rivers sack and fumble and a three yard pass on third and 17. I LOVE NORV TURNER! YES!!!!!!!

6:45

How good would Young be if he had a Randy Moss or Chad Johnson?

6:02

YOUNG IS HURT! I don’t know what he did to himself but it looked like hit his head pretty hard on the turf.

Kerry Collins!

5:47

SD has a 1st and 21. Norv Turner is an offensive genious.

4:21

Another three and out for SD. I’m starting to sense a Tennessee upset. I know it is early, but SD looks completely out of whack. And you know those fans are going to be chanting “Marty! Marty!” soon. Now that I think about it, screw fantasy, GO TENNESSEE!!!!!!!!

2:42

Young is back in the game and L. White has a great third and short run to get the first down. Here is a fun White vs Bush comparison:

Career rushing yards:
White – 1352, 7 TDs, 365 attempts
Bush – 1146, 10 TDs, 312 attempts

This surprised me a little bit. Bush has been in more games and everyone has been talking about how much better White has been this season than Bush. But when you add it Bush’s 1000+ receiving yards and his punt returns (which he only had 3 of this season), Bush is a much more productive player. It seems to me that Bush just isn’t being used right.

:16

Here goes Tennesse driving again.

13:46 2nd Quarter

Back to White again who has another big game. This SD defense has not been the same this year. I don’t know why. There is so much talent and energy there. I blame Herm Edwards and Carl Peterson.

12:41

OH WHAT A HIT BY PHILIPS! White fumbles and SD has the ball on their own 8-yardline. Given the way SD is moving the ball, I’m going to go ahead and give Tennessee the preemptive 5-0 lead.

11:25

GATES! FANTASY!

10:57

SD is on a tear! They have two first downs!

9:59

LDT: 5 carries, 2 yards. SWEET!

9:15

All good things must come to an end. SD has to punt.

9:07

Fun with profootball-reference. Com:

Reggie Bush: 581 yards rushing, 4 TDs
LJ: 559 yards rushing, 3 TDs
Kolby Smith: 407, 2 TD

7:18

Rivers throws an interception. Well, he’s off to a better start than Big Ben at least.

6:29

Ok, coolest camera ever invented is that super slow motion camera that they just used to prove that VY just got destroyed. I love that camera so much I would be willing to lose my virginity to it. I’d do anal if they showed one of those super slow motion baseball swings. ORGASMIC!

5:12

A clutch pass from Rivers to Jackson on a 3rd and 12 play. I now predict an interception.

LDT: 7 carries, 6 yards

3:34

Antonio Gates is hurt. Awesome. Just awesome. Story of my life.

3:12

Mr. Iowa misses a 45-yard field goal to keep the score at 3-0.

2:59

For as much as everyone thinks Philip Rivers sucks, it should be noted that he is much better than Eli Manning and not much different from Ben Roethlisberger.

Career line:
Rivers: 36 Games (32 starts), 60.8%, 42 TDs, 25 INTs, 6688 yards
Manning: 57 Games (55 starts) 54.7%, 77 TDs, 64 INTs, 11,385 yards
Big Ben: 56 Games (55 starts) 63.2%, 84 TDs, 54 INTs, 11,673 yards

Keep in mind that Rivers does not have a go-to receiver like Big Ben and Manning and that Rivers has to deal with Norv Turner.

:39

Wow, VY just complete a big third and long. He looks surprisingly sharp.

:15

I’ve never seen this before but one of the Chargers linebackers tried to pick off the spike! That would have been awesome and would have easily been the greatest play I’ve ever seen.

:03

Tennessee beings and ends the first half with a field goal with nothing happening in between except for my fantasy team sucking. 6-0 Titans.
